Enjoy Comfort & Serenity

The Cedar Creek Lake is a few feet away from the patio, and opens a world of recreational water sports for you. Explore coves with a kayak, paddle board with a friend or just row out into the water and chill.

Then there is the fishing! For the avid anglers, largemouth bass, white and hybrid striped bass, catfish (blue, channel & flathead), and crappie, abound. While the action is great all year round, fishing on Cedar Creek is especially good in Spring, with clear water areas on the lake’s lower end offering great opportunities to hook a biggie.

Birding enthusiasts will also find areas around the 3 islands rich with bird life. The park’s bird list contains about 200 species! Even a casual birder is likely to spot a greater roadrunner. The most sought after bird at the park is the painted bunting, common here from May through August. Eastern bluebird, loggerhead shrike, red-tailed hawk, great horned owl, both turkey and black vultures, and Bewick’s wren live in the park year-round. The park is home to other neotropical migrants, including the yellow-billed cuckoo, indigo bunting, chuck-will’s widow and many others. Fall and winter bring the ruby-crowned kinglet, yellow-rumped warbler, goldfinch, American kestrel and cedar waxwing.
